After two years of debate, consideration, and legal review, the Easthampton City Council unanimously passed the Welcoming Community Trust ordinance on with and . The Welcoming Community Trust campaign in Easthampton involved collaboration between the Resistance Center for Peace & Justice, the Easthampton Community Coalition, and the Easthampton City Council––in particular . The Resistance Center worked closely with Peg Conniff to educate community members and break down some common misconceptions about the ordinance, in addition to building connections between Easthampton councilors and organizers and the many officials and advocates in neighboring “safe cities” who publicly expressed their support for the Welcoming Community Trust ordinance.
