Historian Andrew J. Bacevich discusses his latest book and his efforts to reconceptualize US foreign policy to better serve both vital American interests and the broader shared interest of creating a more just and peaceful world.

Andrew J. Bacevich is the President of the Quincy Institute. He grew up in Indiana, graduated from West Point and Princeton, served in the army, became an academic, and is now a writer. He has authored, co-authored, or edited more than a dozen books. A Professor Emeritus of International Relations and History, Mr. Bacevich has held fellowships at Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, the John F. Kennedy School of Government, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the American Academy in Berlin. He is well-known to many American readers for his penetrating critique of US reliance on war-making as a tool of foreign policy.
