DESCRIPTION:Thanks to all who came out and celebrated with us on Saturday June 2! It was an amazing day. We are so excited to have you with us on this journey. ​To those of you wondering when you can shop with us\, we will be opening on Wednesday June 13 and will be open Wednesdays (11am – 7 pm)\, Thursdays (11am – 7 pm) and Saturdays (10 am – 5 pm) moving forward. We look forward to seeing you this summer and sharing some wonderful produce and other local products with you. We will be having community potlucks and other gatherings\, so stay tuned….. \nFood Justice: The right of all people to an adequate\, safe\, nutritious and sustainable food supply\n“Hungry people cannot be good at learning or producing anything\, except perhaps violence.”\n— Pearl Bailey\n12 Things You Can Do To Grow The Movement for Food Justice:\n1. Organize for racial justice; find out who is doing food/racial justice work in your community and get involved\n​2. Reclaim abandoned land and grow food with your neighbors\n3. Talk to your friends and neighbors about food and racial justice (how some communities have access to healthy\, affordable locally grown food while others don’t)\n4. Support living wages for food workers and farm workers\n5. Join your local Farm Share (CSA) program; encourage them to offer a sliding scale fee and flexible payments for members\n6. Organize to get grocery stores to locate in neighborhoods like Mason Square\n7. Look at what doesn’t work and build alternatives\n8. Petition to get fresh\, healthy food into public schools\n9. Support local growers; shop at Farmers’ Markets whenever possible (especially the Mason Square Farmers’ Market!)\n10. Get your community’s grocery stores\, corner stores and institutions to buy locally grown food\n11. Become an active member of your local Food Policy Council
