Picnic for the People! Defund413 Teach-In & Community Art

August 2 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Amherst has been hearing a lot about Defunding the Police budget over the last month. But, what does that actually mean for our town and for our communities? Join us for an afternoon (social distanced) picnic where you will hear knowledgeable speakers address this question and share their visions for a more just and safer Amherst FOR ALL. There will be an art walk around the common and a chance for you to create your own art to express what you want public safety in Amherst to look like! We will also be raising funds for the Youth of BLM and their upcoming trip to the Black Lives Matter March on Washington, D.C. on Friday, August 28.
Please wear masks and practice social distancing!!!
This event is family-friendly! Bring your kiddos, bring your friends!
