“Section 7” Organizing and Community Supported Unionism
February 9, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Despite the weakness of U.S. labor laws, Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act does protect “concerted activity” by workers with or without a union, citizen and non-citizen alike. This workshop is for non-union workers (alas, the majority of us) and students going into the workplace. While getting into the details of asserting their rights, it also introduces the role of Jobs With Justice and community organizations in their defense and helps them decide when to actually form a union.
