Northampton Jewish community gathering for Tree of Life

Update: @ 4:00 10/29/2018

At 6:00, the Unitarian Universalist Society of Northampton and Florence will hold a vigil at 6:00 on their lawn at 200 Main Street, and will then begin walking to CBI for our 7:00 gathering. Everyone is most welcome to join the vigil and walk at any point along the route. The walk will begin at the UU, proceed down State St. toward Finn and Prospect and will end at CBI.
I am grateful to the Unitarian Universalist society for this outpouring of empathy and concern and their responsiveness to be with our Jewish community in a spirit of solidarity.
Looking forward to seeing you tonight at 7:00 at CBI, or earlier if you’d like to walk.
B’shalom,
Rabbi Justin David

We are gathering Monday night at 7-8 p.m. held in the CBI sanctuary, led together by Rabbi Justin David (Congregation B’nai Israel) and Rabbi Riqi Kosovske (Beit Ahavah). All welcome to be together, to reflect, share, cry, sing, pray and find spiritual comfort, grieve, find hope and strength together after the horrific shooting at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue on Shabbat, where 11 were killed. We now know their names and their lives. We invite you to join us and not to be alone. All are welcome.

We hope to plan a larger interfaith Upper Valley event at a later date. There are many events and vigils happening in our area through this difficult time through mourning to action.

Its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its paths are peace.”
