Based on the work of The Resistance Center in Springfield, Conway, and other places in the Pioneer Valley, a “Welcoming Community Trust” ordinance was introduced in Easthampton. The measure would reinforce the Easthampton Police Department’s police regarding information voluntarily shared with the federal government, and would extend that existing policy across city departments.
