Throughout our history disparities in health care in all their many dimensions have impacted our communities and the wellbeing of working folks across the nation.   Our race and ethnicity can be directly correlated to inequities in care, access and outcomes in addition to our sex, sexual identity, age, disability, socioeconomic status, and geographic location. All of these factors contribute to the ability or inability to achieve good health.  In addition to facing disproportionate barriers to high-quality, affordable health care, underserved communities also face significantly higher health risks and distinctly lower opportunities to improve their health. As a result, these communities are more likely to suffer from a myriad of serious health conditions, driving higher rates of poor health status and premature death, even among infants.

The first step to addressing these issues and breaking down the barriers is coming together as a community to learn about the problem, its history and the way it manifests itself today.  Join Massachusetts Jobs with Justice for a panel discussion with both experts and impacted individuals about health equity in our communities and social structures. We are proud to host this event in collaboration with  Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of MA, Out Now, BLM413, Western Mass. Medicare for All, and Arise for Social Justice. All are welcome and light refreshments will be served.
