The Nicaraguan Election

The Nicaraguan Election & and the Ongoing US Campaign to Overthrow the Sandinista Government and destroy the Sandinista Revolution.

Camila and Ben will discuss the 2018 coup attempt in Nicaragua, how it was carried out, what happened on the ground? What was the role of the US, and the local elites in the coup, and what was the response from the Sandinista government and the Sandinista movement? They will also discuss the tremendous social and economic damage and pain caused by the coup, reversing a decade-long period of achieving high rates of social and economic growth. Ben and Camila will also analyze the emerging patterns in the US led campaigns of regime change in Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

Ben Norton, from Managua, Nicaragua. Ben is a journalist, writer, and filmmaker. He is the assistant editor of The Grayzone, and the producer of the Moderate Rebels podcast, which he co-hosts with editor Max Blumenthal.
