Torrin a. greathouse: a disabled, trans cripple-punk poet – a spoken word performance + q&a

April 9 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Disability Justice at Brown (DJAB) invites you to join us for a spoken word performance by torrin a. greathouse (she/they) – a disabled trans cripple-punk poet – on April 9th at 4:00-5:00 PM EST! The event will start with a powerful reading by torrin from her second full length collection of poems – new works that have not been heard by an audience previously! Her pieces focus on disability justice & embodied poetics, trans identity, intergenerational trauma & traumatic memory, mythmaking, the etymology & language histories and the poetics & politics of desire. The performance will be followed by an intimate q&a session. We are excited to have torrin perform virtually for us – everyone (*even non-Brown affiliated!*) is warmly welcome into this space and we especially invite those who identify as disabled.

Registration is free, though we request that you please RSVP for the performance at this link so you can receive reminders + the link to the Zoom the day of: https://forms.gle/xh9588fXLW2jwEXCA

This event is supported by and in collaboration with the Brown Arts Initiative (BAI) and the Speakeasy Project.

This event will be held over Zoom – the link to the event will be posted shortly!
